I. Jean-François Pomerol's Career Path

After graduating from HEC Paris, Jean-François Pomerol started his career in auditing and corporate finance, notably at Société Générale in Frankfurt. He joined Tribun Health, formerly known as TRIBVN, in 1999 to contribute to its development. Convinced of the potential of digital pathology, he created Tribun Health in 2016 and has been its CEO ever since.

II. Tribun Health, a Major Player in Digital Pathology

Tribun Health is a European company based in Paris with 40 employees. It sells its products in France, throughout Europe, Canada, and the United States. The company specializes in the digital transformation of cancer diagnosis and supports its clients in their transition to computerized workflows.

Jean-François Pomerol explains: "We are a company dedicated to digital transformation in cancer diagnosis, and we are proud to be able to support our clients in their transition from the microscope to computerized work. Of course, this is the visible part of what we do, but I also think that we are changing the way cancer diagnosis is done by introducing a digital ecosystem and providing access to new data sources as well as image analysis and AI solutions."

III. The Adoption of Digital Pathology

The adoption of digital pathology has been slower than expected, but Jean-François Pomerol notes that adoption is now accelerating in Europe and the United States. This acceleration is due to new challenges facing pathologists, such as heavier workloads, more complex examinations, and the need to provide predictive information in a world moving towards personalized medicine.

Jean-François Pomerol also emphasizes that pathologists are increasingly open to digitizing their practice. Furthermore, the COVID-19 pandemic has had a direct impact on Tribun Health's business, with an increase in the number of clients using their solutions to work remotely.

IV. The Advantages of Digital Pathology

Jean-François Pomerol explains that digital pathology has considerable advantages for laboratories, particularly in terms of productivity and cost reduction. Digital pathology also allows pathologists to work remotely, which can be particularly useful in situations where pathologists cannot be physically present in the laboratory.

Moreover, digital pathology provides access to new data sources, such as high-quality images, genomic data, and AI analyses, which can improve the accuracy and reliability of diagnosis.

Tribun Health is a major player in digital pathology, helping laboratories transition from the microscope to computerized work. With the acceleration of digital pathology adoption, the company is well positioned to meet the needs of pathologists and laboratories, offering solutions that improve productivity and diagnostic accuracy. The full interview of Jean-François Pomerol by Jonathon Tunstall is available on Pathology News.
